Article marketing is an extremely useful and for the most part, free way of getting traffic to your website. If you are not familiar with article marketing, then you need to be be aware that it is one of the most effective ways there is of promoting your website. It is a great way to start marketing and, for the most part, is completely free. While there are services that you can pay for, you don't necessarily need to, at least not in the initial stages of your article marketing campaign. It's also a great way to get backlinks to your website and to establish your presence on the Internet.
It is generally not worth submitting articles manually to lesser known article directories. There are hundreds, if not thousands, out there and it would take far too long. So it is important to submit to the right article directories and online magazines. There are only a handful of a popular ones which are worth manually submitting to but, if you are willing to pay, you can use one unique article as the basis of multiple versions and mass submit to a huge database of directories. One way is to write articles in batches of three and use a tool called the Unique Article Wizard. If you are serious about search engine optimization, this is a highly useful, albeit a paid service. In order to make a success of this method you simply need to write articles or have somebody write them for you. The program will then submit them automatically to hundreds of websites out there including blogs, article directories and online magazines.
The most important thing in article marketing is the resource box (a small text box usually) which is automatically attached to every article you submit. This explains who you are and where your expertise lies and always includes a link to your website so, if people are interested in the subject of your article, they can click it to see more.
It is important to always stay on topic. People are going to get frustrated if they click a link and find that it is completely irrelevant to what they have been reading. Finally, you can never write too much so do as much as you are able but feel comfortable with.
